Laboratory for Refrigeration and District Energy Pioneering Sustainable Energy Solutions

Our main activities and research interests concern four different, but interrelated pillars: Thermal management, Refrigeration & Heat pumps, Thermal energy storage & harvesting, District energy, and Energy planning.
We are engaged in applied research and development of heat pumps, household appliances, heat exchangers, and other types of processes, devices and systems, related to thermal engineering. We also do planning and optimization of large scale systems, such as new generations of district cooling and heating systems.
The laboratory pedagogically covers the basic area of Heat and Mass transfer, Transport phenomena, Refrigeration, Heat pump, Energy supply, and Heat exchangers. We offer students topics for seminars and bachelor and master theses, or doctoral studies. Due to their interdisciplinary nature, these topics are suitable for all fields of study within the faculty.
